An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Utena. First ranked Zalgiris faced 3rd ranked Juventus. Guests from Kaunas (17-2) smashed host Juventus (16-7) 102-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Juventus. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Zalgiris shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International guard Rokas Jokubaitis (193-0) fired 13 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international guard Marius Grigonis (198-94) chipped in 18 points. Zalgiris' coach Martin Schiller felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Gintautas Matulis (196-86, agency: Players Group) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Bryant Crawford (191-97, college: Wake Forest, agency: Wasserman) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Zalgiris have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-2 record. Juventus at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Zalgiris are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Siauliai (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
