Bottom-ranked Haukar managed to get a third victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they won against seventh-ranked Njardvik in Hafnarfjordur 82-71. It looked good early as Njardvik took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Haukar took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 11 points. They outrebounded Njardvik 45-34 including 30 on the defensive glass. Italian-Argentinian Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: FAU, agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Irish-American forward Brian Fitzpatrick (202-89, college: Bucknell) supported him with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by British-Canadian guard Kyle Johnson (195-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Blacktop Management) did not help to save the game for Njardvik. Croatian power forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) added 13 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Haukar maintains twelfth position with 3-9 record. Njardvik lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Tindastoll and Valur. Haukar will play against league's leader Keflavik on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Njardvik will play against Tindastoll (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
