Regular Season Round 13: Lille - Poitiers 92-66

Rather expected game when 15th ranked Poitiers (3-8) was smashed on the road by twelfth ranked Lille Metropole (5-6) 92-66 on Friday. Lille Metropole dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers' 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a very good performance for center Thomas Hieu-Courtois (200-95) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Point guard Luc Loubaki (191-97) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. American-British point guard Akeem Williams (184-91, college: UMass Lowell) replied with 17 points and point guard Mathis Keita (192-92, college: IUP) added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Poitiers. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lille Metropole moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Rouen. Loser Poitiers keeps the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Lille Metropole will face league's leader Saint-Quentin on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Poitiers will play against Provence Basket (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
