Regular Season Round 27: Nuernberg - Tuebingen 97-82
Date: March 17, 2021
Bottom-ranked Nuernberg managed to get a third victory. This time they won against thirteenth-ranked Walter Tigers 97-82. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference proves that Nuernberg was well-prepared to that game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Nuernberg players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Tra Holder (185-95, college: Arizona St., agency: Wasserman) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Hungarian point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Nuernberg's coach Ralph Junge allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was center Daniel Keppeler (203-97, college: Regnitztal) with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American Troy Simons (191-96, college: Kent St.) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Nuernberg maintains fifteenth place with 3-18 record. Walter Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Nuernberg will play against league's second-placed MLP Academics Heidelberg at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Walter Tigers will play against Lions (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
