Regular Season Round 2: SS1 - Gloria 108-79

Very important is a road loss of Gloria against SS1 on Thursday night. Visiting Gloria was crushed by SS1 in Balti 108-79. It looked good early as Gloria took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then SS1 had a 35-26 second period charge getting the lead and Gloria was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-108. SS1 dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Gloria's 40. SS1 forced 21 Gloria turnovers and outrebounded them 64-42 including a 42-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. The former international power forward Victor Legosin (201-0) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 blocks. Point guard Mihail Miseailo (183-2) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Peter Trink replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Andre Roman (180-95, college: Arlington Baptist) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gloria. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SS1's next round opponent will be Causeni on the road. Gloria will play against Basco in Balti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
