Fourteenth-ranked Blusens Monbus (7-17) gave a tough game to ninth ranked Unicaja Malaga (13-13) in Santiago de Comp on Saturday. The visitors from Malaga managed to secure only two-point victory 85-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Unicaja Malaga dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Blusens Monbus' 26. Strangely Blusens Monbus outrebounded Unicaja Malaga 38-19 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international guard Dario Brizuela (187-94) who scored 19 points. French forward Axel Bouteille (201-95, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Armenian-American center Steven Enoch (208-97, college: Louisville) who recorded 24 points and 8 rebounds (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) and Canadian guard Kassius Robertson (191-94, college: Missouri) added 22 points respectively. Four Blusens Monbus players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to eighth place. Blusens Monbus lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Unicaja Malaga will meet at home higher ranked Burgos (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blusens Monbus will play against the league's leader Real Madrid (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
