Kauhajoki toppled Nokia to ensure the semifinal berth. The game was mostly controlled by Kauhajoki. Nokia managed to win third quarter 28-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Nokia 43-26 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Collin Malcolm (200-97, college: WPU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import TJ Holyfield (203-95, college: Texas Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Malcolm is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Kauhajoki's coach Janne Koskimies used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Gokul Natesan (196-94, college: Colorado Mines, agency: Haylett Sports) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Lassi Nikkarinen (187-97, college: Montana St.) added 13 points and 8 assists in the effort for Nokia. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
