Puerto Rico victoriously opened Centrobasket tournament. They beat US Virgin Islands in the opener. Pamela Rosado provided 18 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds in the victory. US Virgin Islands secured a 39-33 halftime lead. But Puerto Rico turned things around in the second half. They erupted for 40 points in the second half and rallied to a narrow win at the end. Jada Stinson finished with 16 points for Puerto Rico. Anisha George responded with 30 points and 15 rebounds for US Virgin Islands.
