National League top team - Ironi Ashkelon (15-2) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Maccabi Raanana (5-10) 90-75. It was a great shooting night for Ironi Ashkelon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for guard Omer Ben David (188-1) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 assists. American forward AlLonzo Coleman (207-89, college: Presbyterian) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Ironi Ashkelon players scored in double figures. American-Jamaican Quintrell Thomas (203-90, college: UNLV) replied with 29 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and guard Yarin Ainhorn (191-95) added 15 points in the effort for Maccabi Raanana. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ironi Ashkelon maintains first position with 15-2 record. Maccabi Raanana at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with ten games lost. Ironi Ashkelon are looking forward to face I.Ramat Gan (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Raanana will play against the league's second-placed Maccabi Ashdod (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
