Regular Season Round 19: Aris - AEK 68-73

No shocking result in a game when third ranked AEK (15-4) beat 10th ranked Aris (6-13) in Thessaloniki 73-68 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aris won fourth quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Belgian-American Matt Lojeski (198-85, college: Hawaii, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 16 points. Lithuanian forward Jonas Maciulis (198-85) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) answered with 9 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Mario Chalmers (188-86, college: Kansas) added 16 points in the effort for Aris. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AEK have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Aris lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. AEK are looking forward to face Lavrio (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aris will play against Kolossos HH (#9) in Rodou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
