Very expected game when 17th ranked 46ers (4-21) were crushed on the road by fifth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (18-7) 102-77 on Saturday. Crailsheim Merlins looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Belgian swingman Elias Lasisi (191-92) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and American forward Jeremy Jones (201-96, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center John Bryant (211-87, college: Santa Clara) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) scored 15 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Crailsheim Merlins maintains fifth place with 18-7 record. 46ers lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will face Skyliners (#9) in Frankfurt in the next round. 46ers will play at home against Bayern Muenchen (#3) and hope to win that game.
