Regular Season Round 25: Vechta - Goettingen 79-103

Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Rasta Vechta (4-21) was rolled over at home by twelfth ranked BG Goettingen (9-15) 103-79 on Saturday. BG Goettingen shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Rasta Vechta was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Deishuan Booker (190-96, college: LBSU) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Harper Kamp (203-88, college: California) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. BG Goettingen's coach Roel Moors felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Joshua Young (184-88, college: Drake) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Tim Hasbargen (194-96, college: Babson) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. BG Goettingen moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Braunschweig and Bonn. Loser Rasta Vechta stay dead last with 21 lost games. BG Goettingen will face league's leader EnBW Ludwigsburg at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rasta Vechta will play against Bayreuth (#10) and hope to win that game.
