Regular Season Round 23: Mega - Partizan NiS 88-98

One of the most interesting games of round 23 was a derby match between two teams from Serbia. The game took place in Belgrade where eighth ranked Partizan NiS won against host Mega (13-9) 98-88. Partizan NiS shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Mega was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for guard Ognjen Jaramaz (193-95, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 6 assists. Forward Nemanja Dangubic (204-93, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Partizan NiS players scored in double figures. Filip Petrusev (211-0, college: Gonzaga, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 21 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Scoochie Smith (188-94, college: Dayton) added 18 points and 8 assists respectively for Mega in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Partizan NiS (8-13) moved-up to seventh place. Mega lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Partizan NiS will play against Krka (#9) in Novo Mesto in the next round. Mega will play on the road against Buducnost in Podgorica and hopes to get back on the winning track.
