Second Stage Round 3: Girona - Ourense 89-77

There was no surprise when Ourense (5-4) was defeated on the road by Girona (8-3) 89-77 on Wednesday. Girona dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ourense's 34. It was a great evening for swingman Josep Busquets (202-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Senegalese center Biram Faye (206-0) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Girona players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Armenian-American guard Andre Spight (191-95, college: N.Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) with 16 points and American forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Girona will face Caceres Basket (#13) at home in the next round. Ourense will play against Real Canoe in Madrid and hope to win that game.
