Regular Season Round 28: SOPCC - Caen 84-91

NM1 top team - Caen (19-3) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked SOPCC (13-9) in Pont de Cheruy 91-84. Caen shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a quality performance of swingman Florian Thibedore (194-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists and Senegalese center Moise Diame (206-86) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Caen's coach Fabrice Courcier used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Alexis Racine (191-95) responded with 23 points and forward Lucas Thevenard (202-98) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Caen and four SOPCC players scored in double figures. Caen have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 19-3 record. Loser SOPCC keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Caen will face Avignon/Pontet (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SOPCC will play against STB Le Havre (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
