Regular Season Round 6: Tritonas S. - Karditsas 91-85

An interesting game took place in Athens where higher ranked Karditsas (3-2) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Tritonas S. (2-2) 91-85 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Karditsas. Tritonas S. made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Swingman Nikos Kokkalis (198-85) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Antonis Mantzaris (193-86) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nikos Paparegkas (200-94) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Athanasios Amvrazis (196-0) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Tritonas S. moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Napfliou. Loser Karditsas dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Tritonas S. will face higher ranked Panerythraikos (#8) in New Eritrea in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
