Regular Season Round 25: Ovarense - Sporting 92-97

LPB top team - Sporting (23-2) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Ovarense (9-16) 97-92. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ovarense. Sporting made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ovarense 39-23 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sporting looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Travante Williams (197-93, college: Alaska, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Bailey Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Sporting players scored in double figures. Christopher McKnight (201-87, college: Akron) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Marcus LoVett Jr (183-96, college: St.John's) added 28 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ovarense. Sporting have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-2 record. Ovarense at the other side keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Sporting are looking forward to face Oliveirense (#5) in Oliveira in the next round. Ovarense will play at home against Vitoria SC (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
