Regular Season Round 28: Challans - Stade Rochelais 81-85

The most shocking disappointment of round 28 was a home defeat of 4th ranked Vendee Challans (12-7) to fifth ranked La Rochelle (13-6) 85-81. It ended the eight-game winning streak of Vendee Challans. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Ron Anderson Jr (202-89, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Arnauld Thinon (178-87) who added 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five La Rochelle players scored in double figures. La Rochelle's coach Francois Sence used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Devon Thomas (183-94, college: Texas Tech) responded with 25 points and guard Mathieu Bigote (190-84) scored 15 points. La Rochelle have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group A. Vendee Challans at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. La Rochelle are looking forward to face Lourdes-Tarbes (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Vendee Challans will play against Vanves (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
