A very close game took place in Valladolid between Granada and Valladolid. Granada (8-4) got a very close victory on the road over Valladolid (4-8). Granada managed to escape with a 1-point win 87-86 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was point guard Christian Diaz (185-92) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. American-Liberian swingman Thomas Bropleh (196-91, college: Boise St., agency: Duran International) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Reed Timmer (185-95, college: Drake) who recorded 20 points and 5 assists and the other American import guard Antoine Mason (191-92, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Valladolid players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Granada will meet at home Oviedo (#5) in the next round. Valladolid will play against Palma in S'Arenal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
