Regular Season Round 25: FC Porto - Barreirense 99-59

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Barreirense (2-22) was outleveled on the road by second ranked FC Porto (22-3) 99-59. FC Porto dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Barreirense's 24. They outrebounded Barreirense 43-22 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. FC Porto players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Barreirense's players. American point guard Jalen Riley (182-93, college: ETSU) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Joao Torrie (200-91) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four FC Porto players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Ian Edward Kinard (203-97, college: SC State, agency: Green Sports Management) responded with 16 points and Miguel Correia scored 15 points and 6 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for FC Porto. They maintain second place with 22-3 record behind leader Sporting. Barreirense lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 22 games lost. FC Porto will play against Imortal (#4) in Albufeira in the next round. Barreirense will play on the road against Academica (#10) in Coimbra and hopes to get back on the winning track.
