Regular Season Round 28: H.Acre - E.Ashkelon 72-80
Date: April 6, 2021
National League top team - Ironi Ashkelon (18-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat twelfth ranked H.Acre (7-14) 80-72. H.Acre was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American forward AlLonzo Coleman (207-89, college: Presbyterian) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) supported him with 19 points. Even a double-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists by naturalized Ghanian guard Chris Smith (188-87, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for H.Acre. American forward Emmitt Williams (198-98, college: LSU) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ironi Ashkelon have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record. Newly promoted H.Acre keeps the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Ironi Ashkelon will play against M.Kiryat Motzkin (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. H.Acre will play against Hasharon in Ramat Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
