Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Lille Metropole (7-8) outscored on the road 14th ranked Saint Chamond (4-10) 86-65 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Saint Chamond 35-24 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lille Metropole looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Gaylor Curier (197-92) who scored 23 points. American guard Raijon Kelly (193-93, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Point guard Mathieu Guichard (187-88) produced 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lille Metropole moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Rouen. Saint Chamond lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Lille Metropole will meet at home higher ranked Denain Voltaire (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Saint Chamond will play against SPO Rouen (#12) and hope to secure a win.
