The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Saint-Quentin as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Saint-Quentin edged second-best Provence Basket at home 80-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Provence Basket. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was American point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright (180-95, college: Arizona) who scored 24 points and 8 assists. Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-89, college: Windsor) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Azerbaijani forward Niklas Caner-Medley (203-83, college: Maryland, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and naturalized Central African Allan Dokossi (203-99) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Nancy. Provence Basket at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. Provence Basket will play next round against ADA Blois trying to get back on the winning streak. Saint-Quentin will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked JA Vichy at home.
