The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Palma's (6-7) home victory over 8th ranked Valladolid (4-9) 98-81 on Sunday. Palma made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Sean McDonnell (203-95, college: Westmont) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Pol Figueras (187-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists. The former international forward Nacho Martin (202-83) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian swingman Matej Kavas (203-96, college: Nebraska) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Palma maintains seventh position with 6-7 record. Valladolid lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Palma will face higher ranked Oviedo (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Valladolid will play against HLA Alicante and hope to win that game.
