There was no surprise when 11th ranked Bayreuth (11-18) was defeated at home by seventh ranked ratiopharm Ulm (18-11) 99-93. ratiopharm Ulm shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Troy Caupain (193-95, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 14 points and 8 assists and international guard Andreas Obst (191-96, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 17 points. ratiopharm Ulm's coach Jaka Lakovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
