Very predictable result in Vitoria where fourth ranked Baskonia (22-8) beat 15th ranked Movil Estudiantes (9-21) 96-92 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Baskonia made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Lithuanian forward Rokas Giedraitis (200-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!). American guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) helped adding 15 points and 10 assists. At the losing side Dominican forward Angel Delgado (206-94, college: Seton Hall) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (203-92, college: Georgia) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Baskonia and four Movil Estudiantes players scored in double figures. Movil Estudiantes' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 22-8 record. Movil Estudiantes lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Baskonia will meet at home Burgos (#6) in the next round. Movil Estudiantes will play against Real Betis (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
