Finals Game 1: Kauhajoki - Vilpas 89-96

Vilpas upset Kauhajoki in the Finals opener. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But Kauhajoki won third quarter 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vilpas shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. International Mikko Koivisto (194-87, college: UNCG, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 19 points for the winners. The former international forward Okko Jarvi (193-96, agency: Blacktop Management) answered with 23 points and 4 assists and American forward Collin Malcolm (200-97, college: WPU) added 21 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Kauhajoki. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoki's coach Janne Koskimies rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
