The most exciting game of round 6 in the LEB Gold took place in Lugo. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Castello (8-6) to first ranked Leche Rio Breogan (11-3) 77-75 on Saturday evening. Leche Rio Breogan made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Castello helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Argentinian-Italian guard Mateo Diaz (186-2) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Danish center Kevin Larsen (207-93, college: GWU) chipped in 10 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Dominican power forward Juan Jose Garcia (201-89, agency: Duran International) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Eduardo Duran (190-91) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leche Rio Breogan maintains first position with 11-3 record. Castello lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Alicante. Leche Rio Breogan are looking forward to face Granada (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Castello will play against Palencia and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
