There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Empoli (8-11) smashed on the road 8th ranked Oleggio (7-10) 82-56 on Saturday. Empoli made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Oleggio turnovers and had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Oleggio was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Riccardo Crespi (205-97, agency: Players Group) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Federico Ingrosso (190-94) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Michele Romano (190-0) with 17 points and the former international Claudio Negri (197-85) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
