A very interesting game took place in Rimini. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th ranked Rimini (11-6) to first ranked Livorno Libertas (15-4) 79-78 on Sunday evening. Livorno Libertas made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Rimini helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for power forward Marco Ammannato (203-88, agency: Players Group) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. The former international swingman Andrea Casella (197-90) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Four Livorno Libertas players scored in double figures. Forward Nicholas Crow (199-89) replied with 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international power forward Tommaso Rinaldi (204-85, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rimini. Livorno Libertas have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Newly promoted Livorno Libertas maintains first position with 15-4 record, which they share with Nardo. Rimini at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Livorno Libertas' next round opponent will be Faenza (#4) at home. Rimini will play against Ozzano in Ozzano dell Emilia and hope to win that game.
