We should mention about the upset which took place in Vichy, where higher ranked JA Vichy (10-9) lost at home to seventeenth ranked Olympique Antibes (6-13) 86-94. Olympique Antibes dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to JA Vichy's 38. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by JA Vichy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by power forward Jean-Marc Pansa (208-97) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Byron Wesley (196-92, college: Gonzaga) supported him with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
