Regular Season Round 33: E.Netanya - E.Ashkelon 88-69

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Ironi Ashkelon (21-5) on the court of sixth ranked E.Netanya on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by E.Netanya 88-69. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Ashkelon's 32 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. E.Netanya looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American forward Bryce Washington (201-96, college: La-Lafayette) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Senegalese forward Abdoulaye Gueye (206-94, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four E.Netanya players scored in double figures. E.Netanya's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Aaron Epps (208-96, college: LSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Ashkelon. E.Netanya have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with E.Kiryat Ata. Ironi Ashkelon lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with five games lost. E.Netanya is again looking forward to face league's leader Ironi Ashkelon on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Ashkelon will have a break next round.
