Regular Season Round 23: Nancy - St-Chamond 92-88

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Saint Chamond (5-14) lost on the road to second ranked Sluc Nancy (13-5) 92-88 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sluc Nancy dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Saint Chamond's 32 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Sluc Nancy looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Quite impressive performance for American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Jamaican Andell Cumberbatch (195-93, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Olivier Cortale (207-97) answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Saint Chamond. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Saint Chamond's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sluc Nancy have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-5 record behind leader St-Quentin. Loser Saint Chamond keeps the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. Sluc Nancy will face Souffelweyersheim (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saint Chamond will play against SPO Rouen and hope to win that game.
