Very important is a road loss of third ranked San Miniato (14-5) against sixth ranked Rimini (12-7) on Sunday night. Visiting San Miniato was defeated by Rimini in Rimini 78-63. Rimini outrebounded San Miniato 42-21 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Bulgarian guard Borislav Mladenov (195-0, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and point guard Alexander Simoncelli (188-86, agency: SLN) who added 28 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Rimini's coach Massimo Bernardi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Gianluca Carpanzano (188-95, agency: SLN) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Antonio Lorenzetti (195-95) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Rimini moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Roseto. San Miniato at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Rimini will play against Cecina (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. San Miniato will play against Faenza (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
