Regular Season Round 20: Njardvik - Hottur 72-74

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Njardvik (6-12) was edged at home by twelfth ranked Hottur (5-13) 74-72 on Monday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-72. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Mallory (185-94, college: S.Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 assists and the former international center Sigurdur Thorsteinsson (204-88) who added 5 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. British-Canadian guard Kyle Johnson (195-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Antonio Hester (199-90, college: Mobile, AL) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Hottur moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Haukar. Njardvik at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Hottur will face higher ranked Thor AK (#8) in Akureyri in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
