The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated MLP Academics Heidelberg (3-1) at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Kirchheim Knights (2-2) 118-114. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of MLP Academics Heidelberg. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Group 2. Kirchheim Knights made 31-of-36 free shots (86.1 percent) during the game. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to second place in Group 2, which they share with Bremerhaven. MLP Academics Heidelberg at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Kirchheim Knights is looking forward to face league's second-placed Eisbaeren Bremerhaven on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MLP Academics Heidelberg will play against Schwenningen and is hoping to win this game.
