Regular Season Round 24: Le Mans - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 88-78

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Le Mans (13-7) beat at home 17th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (7-16) 88-78 on Saturday. Le Mans made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Le Mans especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Kosovan-American swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, college: Weber St., agency: BeoBasket) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The former international guard Antoine Eito (188-88) chipped in 14 points. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Vincent Sanford (193-90, college: Dayton, agency: Slash Sports) who recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Petr Cornelie (211-95) added 13 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Le Mans moved-up to sixth place. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez keeps the seventeenth position with 16 games lost. Le Mans will meet Chalons-Reims (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against the league's leader JDA Dijon and hope to secure a win.
