Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked UCAM Murcia (13-19) lost to tenth ranked Gran Canaria (15-17) in Las Palmas 81-91 on Sunday. The winners were led by Polish-American AJ Slaughter (191-87, college: WKU, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 21 points and 6 assists and American power forward Matt Costello (206-93, college: Michigan St.) supported him with 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 7 rebounds by American James Webb III (206-93, college: Boise St.) did not help to save the game for UCAM Murcia. The former international point guard Tomas Bellas (185-87) added 17 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria moved-up to ninth place. Loser UCAM Murcia keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Gran Canaria will meet Andorra (#13) on the road in the next round.
