Second Stage Round 3: Mantova - Pistoia 85-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Pistoia's (3-4) road loss to Mantova (5-2) in Mirandola 82-85 on Sunday. It was a good game for swingman Riccardo Cortese (197-86) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Marco Ceron (195-92) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Mantova players scored in double figures. American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Pistoia. Mantova will face Ravenna (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pistoia will play against Piacenza (#18) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A just one year after relegation.
