Quarter-Finals Round 1: Rustavi - TSU 97-77

Rustavi rallied past TSU to surge ahead in the quarterfinal series. It looked good early as TSU took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rustavi took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 20 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to TSU's 20. They outrebounded TSU 56-31 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rustavi players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by TSU's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 30 personal fouls committed by TSU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Davis (193-96, college: Queens, NC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Nigerian-Italian power forward David Okeke (202-98, agency: Interperformances) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Rustavi players scored in double figures. American guard Richard Caldwell (193-98, college: Binghamton, agency: One Motive Sports) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Brandon Sly (180-96, college: ASU) added 23 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for TSU. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
