Seventh-ranked Timisoara (14-12) gave a tough game to first ranked Cluj Napoca (23-3) on Friday. The visitors from Cluj Napoca managed to secure only one-point victory 67-66. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Timisoara. Timisoara was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 14-11 charge of Cluj Napoca, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian-Croatian center Andrija Stipanovic (208-86, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Donatas Tarolis (207-94) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. American guard Sherwood Brown (193-91, college: FGCU) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian-Bosnian swingman Nikola Gajic (195-91, college: SF Austin) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first position with 23-3 record. Timisoara at the other side keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost.
