Regular Season Round 35: Nevezis - Rytas 91-82

There was an upset when second-ranked Rytas (27-8) lost to bottom-ranked Nevezis (10-25) in Kedainiai 82-91 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Nevezis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (196-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 8 assists. American guard Sedrick Barefield (188-96, college: Utah, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and Gytis Radzevicius (197-95) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Rytas. Four Rytas players scored in double figures. Nevezis maintains tenth place with 10-25 record. Rytas at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Nevezis will face higher ranked Siauliai (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rytas will play against Lietkabelis (#4) in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
