Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Leche Rio Breogan (12-5). They were defeated by sixth ranked HLA Alicante (9-8) 76-66 on Sunday night. 26 personal fouls committed by Leche Rio Breogan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Txemi Urtasun (192-84) stepped up and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and Jose Ortega (192-97) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kacinas (204-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: BIG) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Danish center Kevin Larsen (207-93, college: GWU) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. HLA Alicante moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Oviedo. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Granada and Coruna. They were replaced at the leadership position by Coruna. Leche Rio Breogan will play next round against Almansa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. HLA Alicante will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Palencia on the road.
