Regular Season Round 29: Fos-Provence - Lille 69-77

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Provence Basket (18-8) in Fos-sur-Mer on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by tenth ranked Lille Metropole (14-12) 77-69. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Provence Basket. They outrebounded Provence Basket 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Point guard Louis Rucklin (184-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Raijon Kelly (193-93, college: Angelo St.) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Lille Metropole's coach Jean-Marc Dupraz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-German guard Kevin McClain (190-96, college: Belmont) answered with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Azerbaijani forward Niklas Caner-Medley (203-83, college: Maryland, agency: BeoBasket) added 8 points in the effort for Provence Basket. Lille Metropole have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Provence Basket at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. Lille Metropole will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Provence Basket will play on the road against Saint Chamond and is hoping to win this game.
