Finals Game 5: Venezia - Schio 72-58

Venezia celebrated Serie A1 title. They knocked down Schio in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to conquer the trophy. The game was mostly controlled by Venezia. Schio managed to win fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Natasha Howard (190-91, college: FSU, agency: LBM Management) who scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. British-Nigerian forward Temi Fagbenle (193-92, college: USC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Francesca Pan added 15 points to be named the MVP. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Venezia's coach Giampiero Ticchi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Belgian Kim Mestdagh (179-90, college: Colorado St.) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Giorgia Sottana (175-88) added 11 points respectively for the guests.
