Maccabi Ramat Gan are 2020/21 D1 champions. They stormed past Ashdod on the road in the decisive fifth game of the title series to capture the trophy. The game without a history. Maccabi Ramat Gan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 28-of-31 free shots (90.3 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ramat Gan outrebounded Ashdod 48-29 including a 37-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Swingman Alex Harden (180-93, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Shaqwedia Wallace (175-89, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Maccabi Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Point guard Alexis Peterson (173-95, college: Syracuse) answered with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and center Khadijiah Cave (190-95, college: Baylor) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ashdod.
