No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Nantes (14-15) beat on the road 17th ranked Saint Chamond (6-19) 71-63 on Sunday. The winners were led by American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) who scored that evening 13 points, 8 assists and 5 steals and Ludovic Negrobar (208-91) supported him with 12 points. Four Nantes players scored in double figures. Even 29 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) did not help to save the game for Saint Chamond. Olivier Cortale (207-97) added 10 points for the hosts. Nantes moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Vichy Clermont and Souffel. Loser Saint Chamond keeps the seventeenth position with 19 games lost. Nantes will meet higher ranked ADA Blois (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Saint Chamond will play against Aix-Maurienne (#15) in Aix-les-Bains and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
