Regular Season Round 32: Nantes - Vichy Clermont 91-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked JA Vichy (14-15) was smashed on the road by twelfth ranked Nantes (14-15) 91-70 on Tuesday. Nantes made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 JA Vichy turnovers. The winners were led by American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) who scored that evening 22 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and Nigerian-American forward Josh Ajayi (201-96, college: USA) supported him with 22 points. Even 20 points and 5 assists by American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: MTSU) did not help to save the game for JA Vichy. Power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nantes moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Vichy Clermont and Souffel. JA Vichy lost third consecutive game. Nantes will meet higher ranked ADA Blois (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JA Vichy will play against ALM Evreux (#8) and hope to secure a win.
