Panathinaikos edged AEK in Athens to secure the Finals appearance. AEK was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 29-16 charge of Panathinaikos, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to AEK's 26. The winners were led by the former international forward Ioannis Papapetrou (203-94, college: Texas) who scored that evening 22 points and the former international center Georgios Papagiannis (220-97) supported him with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) by American guard Daryl Macon (190-95, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for AEK. Angolan center Yanick Moreira (211-91, college: SMU, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. AEK's coach Ilias Papatheodorou rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
