Finals Game 3: Leiden - Den Bosch 90-74

Leiden celebrated DBL title. They overcame Den Bosch on Thursday to complete the sweep of the championship series. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-74. Leiden looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Giddy Potts (188-95, college: MTSU) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Riley Lachance (188-96, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, college: Portland, agency: Duran International) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American-Iraqi guard Demario Mayfield (196-91, college: Angelo St.) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Four Leiden and five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
